Athens Farmers Market to move downtown weekday location

As soon as July 2, the Athens Farmers Market will move its Wednesday downtown market from the College Avenue block of the Athens-Clarke County City Hall to the recently opened Creature Comforts Brewery.
Athens Farmers Market manager Jan Kozak said the decision to move the Wednesday market was made collectively by vendors after much discussion. By moving the location of the downtown market, Kozak said they hope to recreate the atmosphere of the Saturday market at Bishop Park with live music, ready-to-eat foods and arts and crafts.
“We are thankful for the opportunity to have used the City Hall sidewalks, but we have not had the success we envisioned at that location,” Kozak said.
Creature Comforts Brewery is located in the former Snow Tire Building at the corner of Hancock Avenue and Pulaski Street in downtown Athens. The Wednesday farmers market runs 4-7 p.m. each Wednesday until early winter. The Saturday farmers market continues at Bishop Park on Saturdays from 8 a.m. until noon.
