CCBC Gallery featured artist: Laura Douglas
Paintings on view Wednesday September 14–Saturday October 1
Laura Douglas is a graphic design student at the University of Georgia. Inspired by her father, who is a painter, Laura paints in her free time to work through her fascination with shape, color, and movement. She focuses on simple subjects like landscapes, animals, and flowers to allow her brushstrokes and color palette to shape the composition. These scenes, beloved to the artist, often stem from memories of her childhood summers spent in Maine, unplugged from society and tuned into the colorful life swirling around her. The artist’s abstract paintings are a new body of work that express her curiosity with color unbound by worldly forms. Laura’s work is a testament to her belief that meaningful design can be a powerful magnifier of life itself.
All paintings on view are for sale. The artist is also available for commissions.
