Condor is a chocolate stout made with lactose that is also a collaboration with our favorite local bean-to-bar chocolate makers, Condor Chocolates. The cocoa nibs added to this beer are made from beans from Ecuador (like all of Condor's chocolate) and are the same beans they make their Galera Peninsula chocolate bar out of. Nick Dale and his Condor team will have samples of this bar as well as other goodies for purchase (Koko Buni bars for all) onsite tomorrow for the Condor release, so don't miss the opportunity to pair the beer and the chocolate!
At first glance you see a dark chocolate blackness to the beer that pours with a cashew shell-colored foam. The aroma consists of cocoa powder, milk chocolate, pistachio, vanilla cream, mascarpone cheese, and coffee. Condor continues with the aromatic themes throughout the palate and the mouthfeel has a creamy, vanilla, custard-like richness. A delicacy, balanced like espresso with a flavor journey through delicate fruit, quickly into bitter chocolate and roasted coffee all make this very enjoyable from start to finish.
Cheers & enjoy!
