Today for Curious Tuesday, we are serving a very special beer created by our Wood Cellar and Specialty Brand Manager, Blake, after he visited Blue Star Donuts in Portland, OR. The beer features passion fruit, cocoa nibs from Condor Chocolates, El Dorado & Simcoe hops, and is made with lactose.
The flavor was inspired by the donut (no actual donuts are in it). The lactose helps round out and smooth the fruit flavor and also mimics the glaze on a donut. The hops create depth and support the fruit flavor. The beer was also kettle soured, which also highlights and balances out the passion fruit. Come try this very limited, but very special brew today from 5-8pm.
