Milk Porter w/ toasted coconut, cocoa nibs, vanilla beans, and coffee.
We are bringing back one of our most comforting beers just in time for the holidays! Koko Buni will be back this year as a seasonal offering and available in the Athens and Atlanta markets. A limited quantity will be packaged in cans, which will be available mid-December in 4-packs in hopes that more consumers will have access to the beer.
We sourced both the coffee and cocoa nibs locally. The coffee is an Ethiopian blend from 1000 Faces Coffee and the cocoa nibs are Ecuadorian from local bean-to-bar chocolatier, Condor Chocolates. In addition, Condor Chocolates created a Koko Buni chocolate bar incorporating 1000 Faces coffee to accompany the beer. 1000 Faces Coffee will also offer the coffee used in the brew as a limited edition Koko Buni coffee blend. Partial proceeds from the chocolate and coffee will go towards local nonprofits through the brewery’s Get Comfortable fund & will be available for our Koko Buni Kick Off tour on 11/22!
The name “Koko Buni” comes from the raw ingredients used in the beer – koko, which means coconut in Papamiento, a language commonly used in the Caribbean and Buni, which is derived from the word for coffee in Amharic, the primary language found in Ethiopia.
The flavors of this beer are rich and velvety like a warm camp fire, which also is the perfect setting to share with your friends. Mentally take a journey there or to whatever is your perfect winter evening while enjoying Koko Buni.
